and so it is...

Heelside:
As the heelside of my snowboard starts gripping the terrain, i feel the ice crunch under the silver sharp edge of my burton feelgood. The instant feeling of unease moves through my body, that feeling of loosing control and becoming completely at the mercy of the mountain. Trying to maintain my balance and contradict the forces of ice, wind, and gravity that are pulling me down, i lean back and hope for the best. Sure enough, the more i lean back, the harder my edge digs in, which in a normal circumstance would be sufficient to stop me, but on ice, this only stimulates the speed at which my board with slip out from under my body, and i will crash into the mountain side.
